Not All CBD is Equal: Comparing CBD Products

There’s a big difference between products that contain just CBD versus products that contain all of the naturally occurring cannabiniods and terpenes. You may have heard the terms CBD isolate, Full Spectrum CBD and Broad Spectrum CBD.

  • CBD Isolate is just that, the CBD has been isolated from the plant and only contains CBD, no other naturally occurring cannabiniods or terpenes.
  • A Full Spectrum CBD product contains each and every natural occurring cannabinoids and terpenes within the plant, yes, even THC, however, the THC percentage must be at 0.3%, and this level is non-psychoactive and will not get you high, a Full Spectrum CBD product is the only type of CBD product that offers the Entourage Effect.
  • Broad Spectrum CBD is a newer term and  in most cases means the plant has been modified to remove the THC, even the federally legal amount of 0.3% which is non-psychoactive.

If the THC level is above 0.3%, it still won’t get most people high, however, it is now considered Marijuana, not CBD or Hemp. Below is a good visual depicting a Full Spectrum CBD product compared to a CBD Isolate product.
